ZebrioMaking school routes visible

For municipalities and GIS

Data export: files, fields and code lists

Which files Zebrio produces, in which formats and with which fields. Categories, subcategories, conditions and symbols appear in the files as an ID with an English name; the lists are below and in the file codes.csv.

What Zebrio produces

The school makes every file itself in the browser, in the analysis and in the planning tool. Zebrio sends nothing anywhere.

What is never in a file

  • No single route to school and no single answer, only summarised data.
  • No exact number of children on a way, only classes (up to 2, 3–5, 6–10, 11–20, more than 20).
  • No parents' texts the school has not approved.
  • No names, addresses, codes or keys.

One file per layer. Distributions are written as ID:count, separated by semicolons, for example 102:3;103:1, and next to them with English names.

Exports of the planning tool

The folders under plans/ (and with “Only the plan” the folders in the ZIP) hold school, ways, hazards, good_spots and places per plan as GeoJSON. The files under survey/ hold the survey's results with the fields of the GIS data, without the distributions by subcategory and condition.

The table (CSV) has the markers' fields plus place, latitude and longitude. KML and GPX carry readable names for people; KML also has the IDs as ExtendedData.

Mapping to MOVERS

Every problem spot carries the official category of the Schulwegplaner (movers_category): its category's number on the way it was reported on, the footpath list for all but cycling children. Where that way's list lacks the category, it is that list's “Sonstige” (17 or 32). It also carries the symbol of the school route plan template (movers_symbol) the spot gets in the planning tool; empty for “other”.

Code lists

Every ID is a whole number, unique across all lists: problem spot categories 101–199, subcategories 201–299, conditions 301–399, good spot categories 401–499, school route plan symbols 501–599. The English name (name) is fixed too. The official problem spot categories of the Schulwegplaner (MOVERS) keep their own numbers 1–32.

Stable IDs

An ID never changes and is never given out again. New categories get the next free number of their list; a removed one stays in codes.csv, marked retired.

If a file has an ID your list does not know yet, download codes.csv here again.
