ZebrioMaking school routes visible

Accessibility statement

The participating schools strive to make Zebrio accessible in accordance with Section 10 (1) of the Baden-Württemberg Disability Equality Act (L-BGG). This statement applies to zebrio.de: the questionnaire for parents, and the setup and analysis for schools. The information pages meet the same requirements.

Compliance status

Because of the limitations listed below, this website partially complies with Section 10 (1) L-BGG and BITV 2.0. The standard is the European norm EN 301 549, version 3.2.1, that is WCAG 2.1, level AA. Zebrio is already tested against WCAG 2.2, level AA, which is part of the new version 4.1.1 of the norm.

Content that is not accessible

  • The map itself cannot be used with screen readers. Equivalent alternatives: you enter the route to school as a list of streets, and you choose dangerous and good spots from a list of places on the route. In the analysis, the map's results are also shown as lists with numbers, and in the report as tables.
  • There is no explanation in German Sign Language yet.
  • The explanation in Leichte Sprache (easy German) has not yet been checked by a test group.
  • The report for the municipality is an accessible HTML file, not an accessible PDF.
  • The parents' letters and the key sheet are PDF files without structure tags (not tagged PDF). Screen readers can read them only to a limited extent. If you need the content in another format, contact the school or the operator.

How this statement was prepared

The statement is based on a self-assessment: automatic checks with axe-core against WCAG 2.2 on every change, on phones and computers, checks of the colour contrasts, and tests with the keyboard, with enlarged text and with wider line and letter spacing.

Report barriers

Have you noticed a barrier? Or do you need information in another format? Write to the school; the address is in the parents' letter and in the privacy information of the questionnaire. You can also contact the operator of the website.
